Activities - What we do
Village Aid works with eight partner organisations in five countries. Some programmes are specific to one country and one partner, others involve more than one country and more than one partner. Our work is based on the topics of:
- literacy and business support
- micro-credit and revolving loan schemes
- climate change mitigation through organic agriculture and tree planting
- human rights support and civic education
- organisational development for local groups
- women’s empowerment through gender awareness training, parity in appointments
We are also involved in a number of UK based activities including the Global Citizenship Teaching pack - a set of resources for primary school education aimed at raising awareness of development issues.
