About Our Projects

What do we do?

For the past 25 years, Village Aid has been working closely with locally-based partners supporting them to deliver projects in rural areas of Africa. Every project is led by the community and responds to the specific needs and issues of the community. Often our work involves activities such as supporting farmers to develop more sustainable farming techniques and produce more nutritious food, or improving access to clean and safe drinking water so people are less at risk of disease. We also work with people to access funding and provide training so they can start their own businesses, create income and improve many aspects of their lives.

Our projects

We currently have projects in Cameroon, Ghana and The Gambia and new partnerships in Nigeria, Senegal and Guinea. As a part of international development organisation United Purpose (formerly Concern Universal), our programmes are led and monitored by in country offices and delivered through local partners. Through this partnership, our work has a significantly wider reach, and we are able to reach even more communities across other parts of Africa.
