About Our Projects

What do we do?

For the past 25 years, Village Aid has been working closely with locally-based partners supporting them to deliver projects in rural areas of Africa. Every project is led by the community and responds to the specific needs and issues of the community.

Often our work involves activities such as supporting farmers to develop more sustainable farming techniques and produce more nutritious food, or improving access to clean and safe drinking water so people are less at risk of disease. We also work with people to access funding and provide training so they can start their own businesses, create income and improve many aspects of their lives.

Global Education: HandsUP in the Peak District

We are also pioneering a global education project, Hands UP for Village Aid. We deliver workshops to children in schools in the Peak District to build knowledge of global issues.
