Social Drama
Social drama is an empowering art-form and advocacy technique used throughout Africa. It also forms an integral part of all of our partner organisation’s work with rural communities, helping the people to make changes in their lives.
Real-life challenging issues can be presented openly through social drama for communities to identify with, discuss, debate and relate those issues to their relationships with one another. It can raise an audience’s awareness of their rights through drama and explore ways in which those rights are denied, and the means through which they might negotiate and ultimately claim those rights for themselves.
