YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO HELP SOME OF THE WORLD’S MOST DISADVANTAGED RURAL COMMUNITIES
The London Marathon is the most iconic sporting challenge in the world, and here at Village Aid we have been lucky enough to secure a guaranteed place in the race to raise money for our community development projects in Africa.
Based in Bakewell, we work together with our in-country partners and larger international development organisation Concern Universal to reduce poverty and inequality in communities in West Africa. Money raised through challenges like the Marathon goes towards ensuring better health and sanitation, education and livelihoods for disadvantaged communities.
Maybe you are passionate about helping rural African communities and want to challenge yourself to raise funds for Village Aid, or perhaps you missed out on an individual place in the ballot but would welcome the opportunity to run for your local international development charity. Unlike many other charities, we are not requesting a registration fee, however, we do require that you commit to raising at least £1500 to support our work. The successful applicant must be physically fit and willing to commit to training and fundraising; however you will be supported by our team every step of the way:
- Bespoke one-to-one training plan
- Personalised fundraising plan and toolkit packed full of tips, event ideas and merchandise
- One-one fundraising advice and regular progress meetings
- Personalised running vest or t-shirt
To join the 36,000 other runners taking to the streets of London in April next year please register your interest on the form below.
We also welcome runners who gained an individual place in the marathon to run and raise money for Village Aid. You will also receive one-to-one bespoke fundraising support, a personalised training plan as well as a Village Aid vest. If you already have a place and would like to run the London Marathon 2017 for Village Aid then you do not need to fill out the application form, just call us on 01629 814434 or email email@example.com.
