Vision, Mission & Strategy

Our Vision:

"A world in which all people in Africa enjoy a peaceful society, a prosperous economy, and a healthy environment"

Our Mission:

Village Aid is an international development charity that empowers disadvantaged people in Africa to improve their own lives.

Village Aid works with people in Africa to secure long term positive change in their lives. We achieve this by developing strong working relationships with local community based partners, supporting them to build their own capacity and to deliver grassroots programmes including: Education & Learning, Securing Livelihoods and Advocacy and Justice.

In the UK we empower schools to engage with global issues through drama and participatory learning.

Our Strategy

(How we deliver our goals to satisfy our supporters expectations and our Mission. What are our resources and any self imposed limitations e.g. countries, type of project):

Village Aid's strategy is to sustain and increase the ability of all people in The Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon to enjoy a peaceful society, a prosperous economy and a healthy environment through the following activities:

Literacy & Education - Empowerment to all through learning for all.

Sustainable Communities - Securing livelihoods; community development, enterprise, agriculture; working with women and village groups to secure access to vital natural resources, relevant information and seeds and tools.

Access to Justice - Supporting advocacy in challenging injustice and corruption; advocacy for marginalised groups, vulnerable people and victims of rights abuse.

Strong Organisations - Supporting self-help activities and delivering cost effective grassroots development.
